At Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), we wanted to give our community a better answer. That’s why we created Tungnagu — a homegrown cloud storage service designed for secure file management and collaboration within the university.

What is Tungnagu?

The name “Tungnagu” comes from the Bajau Samah language, meaning “a place of storage.” True to its name, Tungnagu provides UMS staff with a trusted and centralized platform to keep official university files safe, accessible, and well organized.

Powered by open-source technology (Nextcloud) and hosted on UMS servers, Tungnagu offers secure file storage, collaboration, and access across devices — but with one important safeguard: for now, access is limited to internal users only, to protect official university documents and materials.
